Andrew Deuschle

Deaf Minister

picture of Andrew Deuschle and his familyAndrew was born in Sedalia, Missouri, and has been deaf since he was two years old. He graduated from Kansas School for the Deaf, went to Johnson County Community College during the summer months, and then attended Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. As a student at Sunset International Bible Institute in Lubbock, Texas, he began to work with the deaf ministry.

His graduation from Sunset International Bible Institute in 2001 combined with other credits he earned from other colleges earned him a bachelor and master's degree from the Theological University of America. Beginning in 2002, he worked for almost four years for the Friendly Avenue Church of Christ in Greensboro, North Carolina. In June 2005, Andrew and his family moved to Anchorage and he is currently ministering to the deaf community.

Mike Shero

Pulpit Minister

picture of Mike and Judy SheroMike has been preaching for over 30 years, mainly for congregations in Texas, but also in Kentucky and Arkansas. He has gone on 11 mission trips to India and he and his wife, Judy, recently returned from four years in Uganda. He has also done extensive radio work and participated in summer camp programs for many years.

Mike and Judy come from strong Christian families with several preachers in their family tree. Together they have raised three children, all of whom are faithful Christians. Among them and their spouses are a missionary, a doctor, a youth minister and a chaplaincy student.

Mike studied four years at Abilene Christian College and earned an associate degree in Mortuary Sciences in Kentucky.

Dave Olson

Prison Minister

picture of Dave OlsonDave began serving as our part-time prison minister in 2003 and expanded to full-time ministry in 2006.

Dave was converted in 1996 after meeting his future wife, Marianna. He got involved in prison ministry in 1998 and was hooked after his first visit to a class at a local jail.

Dave and Marianna facilitate a Christians Against Substance Abuse (C.A.S.A.) support group and are the Alaska Directors for the NewLife Behavior Ministries.

Originally from Twenty Nine Palms, California, Dave came to Alaska with his family when he was 12. Dave owned and operated his remodeling and maintenance business from 1998 to 2006.
