John Coffman's Group Discussion Concludes
This is the last week for this session of John's Thursday night class. We will take a break for a few weeks and then resume. Watch our calendar for the dates of the next class.
CASA at Parkview Center
Every Monday evening Dave Olson, our prison minister, conducts a CASA (Christians Against Substance Abuse) classat the Parkview Center, a local halfway house to which men who have been incarcerated have been released. Dave uses the NewLife Behavior curriculum, which has many courses, each course having 13 lessons. After each class, the students take the lessons and answer the questions, bringing them back the following week for grading.
If you would be interested in learning to assist Dave in this worthwhile work, contact him at the church office at 272-7584.
Spring Quarter Begins in Bible Classes for All Ages
Today is the first Sunday of the Spring Quarter. If your child has turned thee years old by today, he/she will now move up to the 3 & 4 year olds class.
We offer Bible classes for everyone from newborns to however old you are. Our classes are designed and conducted to keep the students' attention, teach on each level about God's love, the sacredness of the Holy Bible, how He cares for us, the sacrifce that Jesus made for us, and what we need to know to please Him and go to Heaven.
We welcome you and encourage you to attend the class that has been prepared just for you. You will find a warm welcome from the moment you walk in the door.
If you need transportation to Bible class and worship, please call us at 272-7584 and press the prompt for the Care-A-Van.
We look forward to seeing you next Sunday.
Worship at Spring Creek
God is richly blessing our prison ministry as we conduct a weekly worship service at Spring Creek Correctional Center in Seward. There are currently five men there that have surrendered their lives to God through baptism.
Under normal circumstances our brother Jessie Killgore goes to Seward on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Sundays of every month to take God's Word to the inmates that want to hear God's message. For our five brothers who reside at Spring Creek it is an oppurtunity to worship according to the New Testament pattern and to fellowship with one another and the person who goes into their world to further teach them.
Jessie usually goes to this facility on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Sundays of every month and Dave Olson goes in on the 2nd Sunday. However, while Jessie is recovering from a very serious surgery Dave is filling in for him until he is able to resume his service in Seward. Please pray for Jessie as he recovers and for Dave as he takes on this added work.
Morning Worship in English & ASL
The congregation meets together to worship our Lord each Sunday morning and again in the evening. We invite you to join us so that we can meet you and tell you how happy we are to have you with us.
Cook Inlet Bible Study
Each Sunday morning someone from this congregation or South Anchorage church of Christ conducts a Bible Study and serves the Lord's Supper to inmates at the Cook Inlet Pre-trial facility. This study has gone on for many years.
At first it is a bit disconcerting to hear the doors close behind you as a corrections officer escorts you to the classroom. But once you meet the men who have come to hear God's Word proclaimed, you are simply in an atmosphere of bringing the Gospel to men who are there to listen.
If you would like to participate in this endeavor or just have questions, contact our prison minister, Dave Olson, at the church office at 907-272-7584.
Dynamic Marriage Course Ends
Today is the final session of this Dynamic Marriage course.
Evening Worship in English & ASL
We come together to worship our Lord each Sunday evening. We invite you to join us so that we can meet you and become acquainted with you.
Youth Devotional at S. Anch.
The South Anchorage church of Christ hosts the devotional on the first Sunday evening of each month for their Youth Group and ours. We host the devotional for both groups on the third Sunday of each month. These take place after the evening worship.
